The Victory Commemoration Hall, or VC Hall as
it is known locally, has stood on the same site
since 1947. Originally a temporary wooden
structure, the old hall was extended and
revamped many times over the years. Then in
2003 a successful bid to the National Lottery
enabled the construction of a new building. The
majority of the money came from the Lottery,
but grants were also obtained from other
funders such as the local authorities.
Significantly, over £38,000 was raised within
the village itself.
Located close to the centre of the village, the
VC Hall is used by many local groups and
organisations for regular meetings as well as
for fund raising events.
The VC Hall has operated as a charity since
1961, and is run by a small, happy band of
volunteers. If you can spare 2 or 3 hours each
month to help run the hall, you would be more
than welcome to join us. We are always looking
for support to keep this valuable asset
running.
